October 16th and  23rd

The heat is on and it's time for all hands on deck!

The Pinellas County School Board is planning to resegregate our schools. The resistance is building, and it's working! We need your voice and presence on the battle field. If you can stand with us and attend any of the following School Board meetings, call me at 727-866-0873 or Lillian Lewis at 727-254-6386 or Sami Scott 727-204-9755.

Be Heard - Be Present

Oct 16th - Meet us at 11 am at the School Administration Bldg (301 SW 4th Street) for the School Board meeting where you can join citizens and leaders to speak out on the issue.


Oct 23rd - Advocates needed for 2-hour shifts from 9 am to 5 pm to attend closed-door School Board workshop where they discuss the resegregation plan

King - Kennedy Membership Tea

MLK Center, 1201 Douglas Street, Clearwater, Florida

Program includes a brief presentation by a guest speaker and membership chairpersons. Churches and Organizations are encouraged to bring their culinary delights and decorate their tables. This event marks the end of the Fall Membership campaign. All memberships are due.  Please contact the branch to reserve a table for your organization.

Mims, Florida Memorial Trip

In Memory of Henry & Harriet Moore

NAACP 1st Florida Executive Director, both killed when

their home was firebombed in 1951.  Mr. Moore was an advocate

of equitable and merit pay for Florida teachers

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

 

NAACP, Clearwater/Upper Pinellas County Branch with the City of Clearwater sponsors the second largest Dr. King Memorial in Pinellas County. The event consists of Leadership Breakfast, March to Coachman Park and Rally at Coachman Park. Volunteers are needed. Additional details forthcoming or call NAACP office at (727) 461-7191
